Just Idea for the offseason!

I like this proposed idea. While good in theory, last years' ratings average system was actually harsher than the previous iteration DK came up with. It actually forced talent starved teams to make cuts they would normally not have considered and thus forced them to backfill those in FA. So as opposed to using FA as the building tool it is designed for or as a strengthening piece, it was just a stop gap fix.

However we do it is fine with me but lets PLEASE find a way to speed up the offseasons. I feel like the time we spend in offseason mode...we could probably get an extra season in.

I agree with Sack. I go with whatever is good if it doesn't take to long in the offseason as it did in XML-11

I hear ya guys, I do like the sounds of this method. As far as rules or off-season scheduling or anything at all, it's all on the table for discussion. No set rules are out for the XML 12 franchise yet. We don't know that EA may add something to online franchise still. They release online information late July (a month or so). Until we hear that, we can anticipate changes to our off-season though. Wish they would add some sort of a salary cap system but at this point not being mentioned I doubt it's in the game.

The game sounds promising, at least what has come out of E3 and what some folks familiar with the build of the game have spoken to. I did hear that they would have more details regarding online play and online franchise sometime in late July. Being that it is slated for release in late August, although it could come earlier, I would expect a good amount of info coming our way shortly. Whatever the case, as long as the system we decide to use for XML 12 is fair and is agreed on by the majority that is all that matters.

Yeah they list that on July 25th they will reveal the new online features for the game. I guess we'll cross our fingers and hope for something good out of it.

This is a great idea, but I actually think with the changes that LeagueManager has made for Madden 12 we won't need to do this. For anyone interested in everything that LM has been working on, head on over to myleaguemanager (dot) net.

Yeah, we will be looking into the league manager stuff as well as the XFN that we used last year. If we can't find anything that we want to use from them, we'll have to use a similiar (but faster) system. So we're looking into anything as of right now. Have a month basically at this point to decide our new plan of attack for off-season, etc.

LM actually worked WITH EA Sports in order to get an incredibly detailed and great online franchise mode this year..

I definitely think we should use LeagueManager.
