Weekly Power Rankings Empty Weekly Power Rankings

Post by RncRacer November 28th 2011, 9:37 pm

I find these interesting, and wanted to do my part in keeping the forums going, so I thought I would post the power rankings each week with a sentence or two like ESPN does. This way the power rankings are reviewable the entire season, rather than being lost after each advancement. I just decided to do this, so not much research went into this first week's edition, just looking at box scores.

I am using the power rankings from the website, not changing anything.

Also I am not an English Major at all, so sorry if there are any grammar errors.

    WEEK 7

    1. Baltimore Ravens (6-0): Best defense in the league, Ravens have only allowed an average of 37 rushing yards per game.

    2. New England Patriots (4-1): Already the top offense in the league, Pats may be unstoppable when Ross returns

    3. Denver Broncos (5-1): Probowl back Knowshon Moreno has yet to find his groove in 2012, averaging less than 50 rushing YPG.

    4. Miami Dolphins (5-1): Colin Kaepernick (110.5 RTG) has been the surprise of 2012, after an egregious 2011 campaign.

    5. Indianapolis Colts (4-1): Strong Colts D has helped out an inconsistent Andy Dalton.

    6. Oakland Raiders (4-1): Oakland's D has played well since their embarrassing performance against Denver.

    7. Kansas City Chiefs (3-2): Charles needs to be a more consistent threat for the Chiefs and rookie QB Kaiser to be a factor in the playoff picture.

    8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1): Not many expected Tampa to lose their first game at home against the 1-4 Vikings.

    9. Tennessee Titans (4-1): After an amazing rookie campaign, Jake Locker looks even better in 2012.

    10. Dallas Cowboys (4-2): DeMarco Murray is proving the he is the future in Dallas.

    11. Atlanta Falcons (3-2): Strong D has not been enough to carry the surprisingly bad Falcons offense in the past two games.

    12. Carolina Panthers (3-2): Carolina has won the games that they were favored to win, but lost big in the games they were not.

    13. Washington Redskins (4-2): After one of the worst seasons by an NFL quarterback in recent memory, Matt Cassel is showing the Redkins made the right choice sticking with him.

    14. St. Louis Rams (4-2): After a rough start, the quiet Rams have won 4 straight

    15. New York Jets (3-2): It is becoming clear that Sanchez and Campbell are not a long term answer.

    16. San Diego Chargers (3-3): After a tough start to the year, the Lions were just what the doctor ordered.

    17. Arizona Cardinals (3-3): Kolb has been very steady, and the Cardinals look to be the odds-on favorite to challenge the Rams in the NFC West.

    18. Cincinnati Bengals (3-3): The Payton Manning (68.1 RTG) trade has not gone as expected.

    19. Seattle Seahawks (2-3): Gabbert has shown great improvement, but he will have to play even better for Seattle to be a playoff team.

    20. Green Bay Packers (3-2): After a disappointing 0-2 start, the Packers are rolling and coming off a bye into Detroit. Expect an ugly game.

    21. Chicago Bears (2-3): After only putting up 3 points in Minnesota, the Bears recovered to score 34 in San Francisco.

    22. Minnesota Vikings (2-4): After being benched twice this season in favor of Joe Webb, Ponder had a career game against a very tough Tampa Bay Defense.

    23. Houston Texans (2-4): Texans have not been able to stop the run all season, and have now lost 3 straight going into their bye.

    24. Cleveland Browns (2-4): Played surprisingly well against the Ravens, but that doesn't change the fact that they have lost 4 of their last 5 games.

    25. San Francisco 49ers (2-4): The Joe Flacco (67.7 RTG) trade has thus far held back San Francisco more than it has helped them.

    26. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4): Finally broke into the win column by beating the New Orleans Ain'ts.

    27. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-5): Steelers started cold in 2011 and rallied to finish 9-7, doesn't look like that is likely to happen again in 2012.

    28. Philadelphia Eagles (1-4): It is looking like most teams have figured out how to stop Michael Vick (46.5 RTG).

    29. New Orleans Saints (0-5): Chad Henne (40.7 RTG) has been awful. It may become Kyle Campion's team before halfway.

    30. New York Giants (0-5): Last season 7 wins was considered a disappointment. This season 5 wins may be best case scenario.

    31. Detroit Lions (0-5): The Lions made a big mistake by throwing rookie Newcomer in as the starter at the start of the season rather than signing a veteran.

    32. Buffalo Bills (0-6): The 2012 Bills have done something most thought we would never see... Look worse than the 2011 Bills.
