The Sports of the Bay for the Bay

    **TRADE ALERT**
The 49ers and the NY Jets have come to a trade agreement pending the commissioner's review. Both sides will have their press conference as well as player introduction when the trade is put through.

49ers receives: Kendrick Ellis (DT) & Josh Mauga (MLB)
NY Jets receives: Reggie Smith (FS)

Other 49er news indicate that the league will veto against the trade done earlier between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the 49ers. GM Z and GM Patrick will go back to the drawing boards to make the trade more balanced as well as acquiring pieces both feel their teams would be better with. On a ending note, the Patriots and the 49ers are close to completing the trade as most members in the league have felt that nothing is wrong with the current deal. There are some whispers amongst a handful of league owners that the deal is not fair; however, no supported argument is presented. Both GM Yoyo and GM Patrick feel that the players acquired will give each other the best chances to win this season. The 49ers do not feel comfortable starting the season with the abysmal Alex Smith and therefore have reached out to acquire their own version of a franchise quarterback in Ryan Mallet, whom many of forgotten because of how badly his draft stock fell in the 2011 NFL draft. Other players moved in the deal were Patrick Willis and Crabtree for Wes Welker, Albert Haynesworth and Brandon Spikes. When asked, "Why would you make such a bold move in replacing Patrick Willis with Brandon Spikes?" GM Patrick responded, "The deal does not only consist of Brandon Spikes, I felt that we were getting value with Wes Welker who would complement Braylon Edwards and Josh Morgan. We were also very pleased to acquire Albert Haynesworth who will go back to playing his preferred position as a 4-3 end in our new 4-3 defensive system. Brandon Spikes will replace Patrick Willis as the MLB and will develop just fine as our new MLB." It seems like there are a lot of movement going on in the league this season with the 49ers being one of them, with XML firing up this week we can only expect more.
